Core Course Waiver Information
For Online MBA Current Students
Students may be exempted from the requirement of taking certain core courses with approval from the instructor of record. Waivers are offered at the discretion of the instructor and the requirements for waiving courses vary from course to course.
Exemption, if granted, does not award course credit and you would take an additional elective to replace the exempted course.
Only students with extensive experience and/or applicable academic coursework should plan to opt for a waiver. The expectation for applicable coursework is equivalent to graduate-level study. Undergraduate courses are typically not accepted. Students who are eligible to waive out of a core course will often still take the course, either as a refresher course or to solidify their understanding of the material.
