The GSM Student Association - MPAc ("GSMSA-MPAc") enhances the value of the Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAc) student experience by creating a collaborative community that facilitates academic, ethical, social and professional growth.

The GSMSA-MPAc provides a framework for generating ideas to improve the MPAc program, networking with alumni, engaging in philanthropic activities and coordinating extracurricular events.

Amanda Carter

Amanda Carter
President

Amanda Carter is the president of the MPAc program for the Class of 2024-25. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Mary’s College of California in May 2024, where she served as an executive of a women in business club, tutor, and peer mentor for business students. Carter will begin her accounting career at EY in fall 2025. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors, wakeboarding, wake surfing, cooking, baking, playing games, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Garrett Romaine

Garrett Romaine
Vice President

Garrett Romaine is the vice president of the MPAc program and is set to graduate in June 2025. He completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University, co-majoring in entrepreneurship and sports management. Romaine has held leadership roles, including running his own merchandise business, and plans to leverage these skills in his position on ASM to benefit the MPAc program and the GSM as a whole.

Originally from wine country, Romaine has a deep passion for food and wine and is an active member of the GSM Food and Wine Club. He enjoys staying active, with running, snowboarding, and golfing among his favorite pastimes. The Davis community offers plenty of running trails and nearby golf courses, and it’s just a short drive through the mountains to the ski resorts in Lake Tahoe. Romaine is grateful for the opportunity to serve as vice president of the MPAc program and is excited to contribute to ASM.
